


CANTATE VOICES is a modern harmony show choir ("Glee" style) where the emphasis is on the performance skills required for vocalists. Run by an experienced and versatile singer, dancer, actress, this group uses popular repertoire to create a fun and contemporary choir. The choir is open to girls and boys from year 7 upwards.
• Vocal training and performance technique, complementing any existing tuition.
• Opportunities to perform at a variety of different events and concerts.
• Professional backing tracks used alongside accompanist and a live band for at least one fully staged production a year.
• Opportunities for recording work
Founded in 2006, Cantate Voices has quickly risen to be a highly respected group, winning the Sutton Music Festival 2007 & 2008, taking part in the prizewinners' concert in 2008. They have also appeared as Guest Artists with the Croydon Symphonic Band at the Fairfield Halls. In 2010 they were awarded (under their director Tamasine Kimber) the best singing school in South London by the London College of Music exam board. The diverse choice of repertoire and energetic performances give the choir a unique place in the community as a way for young people to express themselves in a musical context and has developed many new friendships within the membership.
Due to the success of the older group Junior Voices was launched in October 2010.
This group caters for children in school years 3 - 6.
